Irie House (Irie means 'the state of well being' in Jamaican) is ideally situated on upper 4 O'clock Road just across from 4 O'clock Run (4 O'clock meaning the time the tows close...better begin skiing down!). Ideally situated means that (1) it's close to all the mountain sports - winter and summer, ie, ski-in/out, bike-in/out and/or hike-in/out; and (2) is only a short walk to town.
While the frontage of Irie House is a rustic mountain cabin, which is attractive in itself, it hides a 4200 square feet, comfortable/cozy 5 bedroom home which can sleep 10 in two living areas. After entering the spacious living area, guests usually walk straight out to the huge deck for a panoramic view of the town and Baldy Mountain. Then they find the kitchen/dining area and the master bedroom both facing out on the deck. Upon further exploring, one finds the second living area downstairs with kitchen, bath, 2 bedrooms, fireplace, TV and a pool table - perfect for the kids while the parents are upstairs relaxing. Off the second floor balcony are two more bedrooms and a loft, plus a place to work for those who can't get away (the house has total wireless).
Previous renters will be pleasantly surprised in that the living room and downstairs furniture have been totally updated, windows overlooking the deck and town have been replaced and the upstairs bathroom has been redone. Since the hot tub had become pretty tired, it too has been replaced with a modern four jet-pack Billfrog Spa along with deck reinforcements to hold it.
Thus, after those long, 'hard' days of skiing, biking, hiking and/or just shopping, one can come home to a place like home. But, the best spot is the new Bullfrog Spa on the deck overlooking the town and the mountains - fantastic when it's snowing and especially at night when the moon is up. Then everyone realizes that they are truly in 'a state of well being'!
